I've welcomed and worked with both professional makers and absolute beginners sharing our passion and curiosity for 'glassbeadmaking.' So if you are looking for interactive and fun craft workshops / glass making workshops whether you are in Belfast, Dublin, anywhere on the island of Ireland or further afield I'd love to welcome you to the studio. I've taught glass art enthusiasts from Northern Ireland and as far away as Germany who travel to County Down to experience my workshops.

Workshops are held every month and can be arranged on either a weekday or weekend. I'll contact you with a choice of dates so we can arrange a day and time to suit.

Workshop Details

Classes can be arranged for a date and time to suit.
Beginner workshops cover the fundamentals of working with hot glass to create unique beads. Techniques covered include shaping, dots, frit, colour combining, layering glass and surface pattern. You'll have plenty of time to experiment with your favourite techniques at the end of the lesson. All materials and safety eye are wear supplied, along with tea and coffee. Your work will be kiln annealed for durability and posted back to you.
One to one private class

Intermediate and advanced classes can be tailored for the more experienced glass worker. Techniques include hollow bead blowing, cabochon making, stringer work, implosions and encasing. The use of specialist silver reactive glasses, precious metals can also be explored.
Cost dependent on techniques and materials used in specialist class and will be advised beforehand.
At Glassistudio I take all visitors safety and comfort seriously, the studio has extraction ventilation over each torch, all shared equipment is cleaned regularly.
